Coronavirus

Our cleaners continue to use Covid-safe practices when cleaning Owl Cottage. As Covid is spread by aerosols, the cottage is aired between guests. We continue to provide hand sanitiser.

Our Holiday Cottage is a home from home in coastal Northumberland

Owl Cottage is a delightful, charming and welcoming period stone holiday cottage, a real home from home, tucked away in a glorious rural position only a short stroll to the Northumberland coast. It lies between the coastal villages of Embleton and Craster (with its picturesque fishing harbour and famous smoked kippers and salmon), at a small farm hamlet called Dunstan Square. Owl Cottage is the personal holiday home of Kate, Kieran, Hannah and Harry who live 45 minutes away in Newcastle upon Tyne. “Owl Cottage is our sanctuary and as we drive down the approach farm lane to the cottage, with Dunstanburgh Castle as the backdrop, we always feel a mix of calm as well as excitement at the prospect of spending time at Dunstan Square”
Look forward to excellent walks and cycling along Northumberland’s Heritage Coastal pathways literally from the front door to the nearby ruins of Dunstanburgh Castle and to the beautiful and breathtaking silver sands and wildlife rich dunes of Embleton Bay. Alternatively ‘chill out’ by the roaring wood burning stove whilst reading one of the many hundreds of books at the cottage – Bliss! Owl Cottage is found within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and offers easy access to miles of Northumberland coastline, charming villages such as Newton by the sea, Bamburgh and Alnmouth, golf close by at Dunstanburgh links course, coastal castles to explore and 6 miles inland the historic medieval market town of Alnwick, with its famous Alnwick Garden and Castle, well known to many as where Harry Potter was filmed and probably the best second hand book shop ever, Barter Books, housed at the old Victorian train station.
